Music artist residency
If you love music, know how to play an instrument, and wish you could devote some time to it in a beautiful place away from the city, “La Casita Musical” is the perfect artist residency for you.
Here, you’ll be able to compose and record a song, rehearse with local and international musicians, perform in a concert, and take part in community workshops with the people of Lobitos.

WHO IS THIS RESIDENCY FOR?
This residency is for intermediate or advanced musicians who want to create and record their own song in a peaceful, oceanfront setting.
You don’t need to be a professional—just someone who wants to make music, connect with others, and be part of a wonderful community.

Where will you stay?
"La Casita Musical" is located in a very peaceful neighborhood just steps from the ocean.
Maku, the owner of the house, and his friends will make you feel at home. The house is equipped with all the instruments you need, in a warm and comfortable space filled with plants and beautiful details that will make your stay truly delightful.
The place features a lovely kitchen and a charming garden where bonfires and barbecues take place. And just a few meters from the house is the perfect wave for surfing, known as Piscinas.**

THE MONTHLY PLAN
Week 1:
Your first week at La Casita Musical you'll get to know Lobitos, some of its historical monuments, and begin composing a new song.
Week 2:
The second week will focus primarily on recording your new song! While the concert's progress slowly begins to unfold.
Week 3:
This week, you'll lead a workshop on a topic of your choice for the community. It will be an enriching experience for both you and Lobitos. It will also be a week of rehearsals, jamming, and preparation for the final week.
Week 4:
Your last week at La Casita Musical! The grand finale, a live concert where we'll share the music we've been rehearsing with the Lobiteña community.
THE team
“La Casita Musical” team is made up of a group of musician and artist friends who, by a twist of fate, found each other in this fishing town, Lobitos. We’ve spent years recording our own songs, rehearsing with traveling musicians from all over the world, and organizing and performing in live concerts.
After so many years, we feel it’s time to share this blessed experience with other musicians who haven’t had the same opportunity.
MAKU
A sound engineer with strong technical skills and a deep passion for music. As a multi-instrumentalist, he brings a versatile perspective to his sound projects, combining technique and creativity to produce high-quality results.
The comfort he provides helps artists feel more free to express themselves.
ELIAS
A multidisciplinary artist, surfer, shaper, and singer-songwriter. Elijah will be happy to help you feel comfortable and at home in Lobitos. His desire is to support other artists in creating freely from their essence and authenticity.
CAPI
An artist and musician who brings creative energy and experience in organizing musical events to the residency. In addition to helping build the local scene with his friends, he shares his own project on Spotify and is part of the band Los Pastelillos. In his role, he aims to make the residency an open space for creation and artistic exchange.

Fishing and surfing village
Lobitos is a former military fishing town located in the desert of northern Peru.
With year-round sunshine, coastal nature, and a peaceful atmosphere, it’s an ideal place for those looking to unleash their creativity in a unique and welcoming environment.
The area preserves a rich fishing culture, with traditions that have been maintained for over 100 years. There’s a pier used by local artisanal fishers, where you can buy fresh fish or even fish yourself. You can also take experiential fishing trips and go whale watching.

This paradise is particularly known for its perfect waves for all levels, spread across several beaches. These include La Punta, Baterias, El Hueco, Piscinas, and Punta Panamá and 3 Cruces.
Lobitos is a town with a fascinating history, starting with its fishermen and the influence of the British oil company, the British Petroleum Company. Its Victorian architecture and Oregon pine wooden houses make it a true gem of the north. After a military period with up to 8,000 soldiers, it was reborn in the early 21st century as a vibrant tourist destination, where surf culture and social life flourished. Without a doubt, Lobitos weaves together past and present in a unique way.
